just finished editing down one of the jobs from this week. it was the first time shooting in the new space and i was quite pleased with the outcome. i wish i could tell you all about it and show you pictures from the shoot but i’m not allowed to. so…. i drew this sketch of what our day looked like – the backdrop and the lights and the “stuff” and then there’s me with the camera and josh and the client over by the computer looking at the “stuff”. i’m sure you get the idea. enjoy!

check out this incredibly photogenic family! this may have been one of the most easy going and successful portrait sessions i’ve ever had. i loved shooting this family and can’t wait to see them in november at their next session!

the prosecco flowed;

the cheese plate, devoured;

laughter ensued;

and even the fire marshal would have been impressed with how we crammed that many people into 611 square feet. last thursday’s grand opening was what josh and i would call a successful evening. it was an amazing whirlwind of friends, family, and strangers looking to load up on free wine and cheese. lucky for us the Grammy Nominated MultiPlatinum Record Producer / Songwriter / Mixer / TV Ad Composer / Fotograféur / Washed-Up Reality TV Star (my uncle) Juan Patiño arrived camera in hand ready to capture the evening. Click here to catch a glimpse of how things went down. a big thanks to everyone who came out in support.

check it out! “morristown this week” gave us a huge article about the opening of the studio. If you don’t live in the greater morristown area you can read it online here

the editor forwarded us the nine questions and requested a photo of the two of us. considering the nature of our business it seemed ridiculous to have the newspaper send a photographer out to snap a picture of us. this proved to be one of the more difficult processes of starting up this business. i won’t go into detail but here’s a quick look into how things went that day (actual conversation):
josh: “does that camera have a timer on it?”
me (tinkering with the camera): “i think it does, i’ve never tried before, for what i paid for it, it better have one.”
–several moments pass–
josh: “do you want me to google it?”
me: “yeah man, you may have to… oh! wait, wait, i got it!”
fifty-three minutes later we ended up with this beauty. it was an experience to say the least and this is sure to be our one and only promo shot for years to come.

The time is fast approaching for the Grand Opening of the new studio space in our beloved Morristown, but before we go into that, I feel a need to share the anger, frustration and subsequent joy that is our new website. We just spent the past 3 days banging our hands and heads against the computer and trying to communicate with programmers…..thankfully, David, the more literate one (in the computer sense of the word only), tirelessly worked with a few friends (special thanks to Matt at Large Interactive) and at last, we are a go! Click here to be amazed!
Getting to the really exciting stuff, we are but a week or so away from opening the doors (finishing touches on the studio to come) of our new studio space located at 30 Cattano Ave in Morristown, NJ. For those of you who are familiar with Mo-Town we are in the Amli Plaza right next to Viva Nails, for the rest of you, check out this map.
We are planning on having an open house soon, so stay tuned for the invite. Here’s a glimpse of the new space:
